Raymond Brusegaard

Raymond K. Brusegaard, 90, Moorhead, MN and formerly of Grand Forks, ND and Gilby, ND, died Tuesday, May 19, 2015 in Eventide Lutheran Home of Moorhead. Raymond Keith Brusegaard was born September 29, 1924 in Gilby, ND, the son of Thomas and Theodora (Johnson) Brusegaard. He grew up and attended school in Gilby. Raymond married Ruth Evelyn Scheel on May 17, 1950 in East Grand Forks, MN. They lived in Gilby where Raymond worked for many years for Scott Farms. He was also a heavy equipment operator for Grand Forks County until his retirement in 1989. They later moved to Grand Forks. Raymond loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed yard work and keeping his lawn beautiful. He also enjoyed gardening, playing cards, going on walks and people watching at Menards. Survivors include his children, Richard (Barbara) Brusegaard, Ft. Mohave, AZ, Barbara (Robert) Pohl, Dilworth, MN, Marsha (Thomas) Cerar, Dilworth, MN and Kenneth (Pam) Brusegaard, Palmetto, FL; 13 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; sister, Doris Burket, and many nieces and nephews. Raymond was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Evelyn Brusegaard; Brothers, Ted, Art, Connie, and a twin brother, Dick Brusegaard; sisters, Adelaide Hensrud, Thelma Moody, Gladys Bye, Margaret Graves, and Dorothy Matteson. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Tuesday, May 26, 2015 in Amundson Funeral Home of Grand Forks. Visitation will be for the hour before the service in the funeral home. Burial will be in Memorial Park South Cemetery of Grand Forks. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Hospice of the Red River Valley or the Alzheimer's Association.
