Jane A. Reding, 79, Grand Forks, ND, and formerly of Lancaster, CA, died Wednesday, June 3, 2015, in Valley Memorial Home Eldercare, Grand Forks. Jane Ann Reding was born August 20, 1935, in Storm Lake, IA, the daughter of Harvey and Mable (Baer) Reding. She graduated from high school at Sunnydale Academy of Centralia, MO. Jane attended Union College of Lincoln, NB, and Andrews University of Berrien Springs, MI, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Education and a Master's degree in Curriculum and Supervision. Jane then began a 41-year career in teaching at Seventh-day Adventist elementary schools in St. Louis, MO; Loveland, CO; Shelton, NB; Beltsville, MD; Virginia Beach, VA; Manassas, VA; Bowie, MD; Kansas City, MO; and Lancaster, CA. Jane retired from teaching in 1998. Jane enjoyed traveling, crafts, music, crocheting, knitting, and sewing, but the thing that was most important to her was service to others. Jane is survived by two sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, by her brothers Earl, Robert, and Joe, and by her sister Carol. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2015, at 2:00 PM in Amundson Funeral Home of Grand Forks. Visitation will occur one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Jane will be interred near her family in Salem Cemetery of Jackson County, MO.
