Mary Bjorneby, 90, of Fort Myers, Florida, died Saturday, June 13, 2015. Mary moved to Fort Myers 25 years ago from Grand Forks where she worked with her husband, Bob Schumacher, in their automotive tire and service stores. Mary was born October 31, 1924 in Hettinger, N.D. She spent her early childhood in Emerado and graduated high school in Forest River. After she married Bob, they lived in Pembina for several years before moving to Grafton in 1955. They moved to Grand Forks in 1965 after they opened a Goodyear tire shop. After Bob died, Mary continued to manage their stores until 2014. She moved to Fort Myers full-time, pursuing her favorite hobbies of bridge and golf. It was here that she and her life-long friend, Jack Bjorneby, were married. Mary is survived by her daughters: Jill (Schumacher) Ellzey of Crestone, Colorado, JoAnn (Bjorneby) Salwei of Poulsbo, Washington, sons: Wade Schumacher of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, Tom Schumacher of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Michael Bjorneby of Grandbury, Texas, Mark Bjorneby of Bemidji, Minnesota, sister; Karen Warren of Baja, California Mexico, 7 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces. She is preceded in death by Jack and Bob, and her mother and stepfather Bertina and Howard Warren, and her father Bud McCoy. Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 South 42nd Street, Grand Forks, ND. Internment will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service.
