Patrick C. "Pat" Seng

Patrick C. "Pat" Seng, 76, Grand Forks, died Monday, June 15, 2015 in Valley Memorial Homes, Eldercare Center, and Grand Forks. Patrick Cleon Seng, the son of Dave and Lucile (Olson) Seng, was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on March 23, 1939. He was raised at Karlstad, Minnesota, and graduated from Karlstad High School in 1957. Patrick enlisted in the US Army in July, 1957, and was stationed at Presidio, California and discharged in July, 1959. He re-enlisted on December 30, 1960 and was stationed in Brienne Le Chateau, France and discharged on December 29, 1963. He returned to the US and worked various jobs including the Grand Forks Police Dept., Pennington County Sheriff's Department at Thief River Falls, Minnesota, for the Boeing Co. in Montana. He returned to Grand Forks and worked for ND Cement and Kenneth Tweten, Reynolds, ND. In 1980 S & S Transport, Inc. was started with his wife June. It began with a borrowed truck from Kenneth Tweten, a cardboard box for files and a card table for a desk in the corner of a bedroom. He loved his grandchildren and attending their sports and activities. He also enjoyed racing. Pat was a member of University Lutheran Church, American Legion, Eagles Aerie 3486 and Shriners. Pat married June Anderson on July 7, 1967 in East Grand Forks, Minnesota at Our Saviors Lutheran Church. She survives along with sons, Donald (Patti) Keck, Johnsonville, OR, Brad (Tina) Seng, and Brian (Kelly) Seng, both of Grand Forks; grandchildren, Catie Keck, Brooklyn, NY, David Keck, Jacksonville, OR, Christian, John, Caitlyn, Carson, and Brina, all of Grand Forks; sisters, Barbara (Darryl) Larson, Edina, MN, Susan (Mark) Kolstad, Fargo, ND, Peggy (Jay) Collins, San Antonio, TX, and Jennifer (Dan)Lee, Plymouth, MN; sister-in-law, Marilyn (Cliff) Coss, Grand Forks, ND; brothers-in-law, Wayne (Sandee) Anderson, Grand Forks, ND and Truman Vigen, East Grand Forks, MN; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and aunts and uncles. Funeral Services will be 3:00 p.m. Monday, June 22, 2015 in University Lutheran Church, 2122 University Ave., Grand Forks. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, June 21, 2015 in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 S. 42nd St., Grand Forks and for one hour prior to the service in church. Interment with military honors presented by the North Dakota Army National Guard and American Legion Post #156, VFW Post #3817, East Grand Forks, MN, will be in Memorial Park North Cemetery, Grand Forks.
