Albert Mesa Sr

Albert Mesa Sr. 82, of Grand Forks, N.D., passed away Thursday, June 18, 2015 surrounded by his family at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks. Albert Mesa was born in Manvel N.D. on April 8, 1933 son of Eusebio and Melquiades (Hernandez) Mesa. Growing up in Manvel Albert worked in the beet fields along with his parent and siblings. He had a special bond with his sisters. The family moved to EGF in 1947 where he attended Sacred Heart School. He went to work for King of Spuds along with his father at the time. Albert also worked for the Grand Forks Public Schools at Elroy Schroeder Jr. High School for 28 years until he retired in 2006. He enjoyed both staff and students for many years. They would always comment about Albert's smile. Albert is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Nikle); children: Albert Jr.(Theresa)of Grand Forks, Raymond Mesa of Grand Forks, John (Sandy) Mesa of East Grand Forks, MN, Eusebio Mesa of Grand Forks, Eva Johnston of Grand Forks, Elizabeth (Brad) Sullivan of Grand Forks; Sisters: Richarda Mesa and Antonia (Pedro) Villarreal both of East Grand Forks, MN; grandchildren and great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, who dearly loved him and will truly miss him. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Cleofus, sisters Julia Arriola, Calletana Avila, Cecelia Calderon, brothers in law; son, Andrew, grandsons, Ray Mesa, Jr. and Kyler Porter. Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at 2:00 PM in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 South 42nd St., Grand Forks, ND. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5 to 7 PM with a prayer service at 7PM in the funeral home. Interment will be in Calvary North Cemetery, Grand Forks.
