William "Bill" Romuld

William "Bill" Mathew Romuld, 76, of Grand Forks, ND, died on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Luther Memorial Home in Mayville, ND. Bill was born December 12, 1938 in Sherridon, Manitoba, Canada. His family lived in Preeceville, Saskatchewan, Canada and moved to Hoople, ND in 1952 and then to Grand Forks, ND in 1955 where he graduated from Central High School and attended UND for a short period. He married Judy Balkan on July 3, 1958. Bill served in the U. S. Air Force from 1958 to 1963 and became a naturalized citizen of the United States in 1959. Bill and Judy settled in Sun Valley, California where he worked for Pacific Bell and retired after 27 years of active service. He enjoyed many camping and fishing trips in California. They moved back to Grand Forks, ND in 1991. He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Judith (Balkan) Romuld (2004), son Robert Dean Romuld (1990), mother Caroline Romuld, father Clifford Romuld and brother C. Dale Romuld. He is survived by his brother Howard Romuld of East Grand Forks, MN, granddaughter, Desiree (Romuld) Tejada of Scottsdale, Arizona and her two sons, and many nieces and nephews in the area. The family plans to hold a private celebration in honor of his life. Memorials are preferred to Hospice of the Red River Valley or charity of your choice.
