Jacob Yanish

Jacob T. Yanish, 23, East Grand Forks, MN, passed away Sunday, August 2, 2015 at home. Jacob was born to Tim and Roberta (Olson) Yanish in Grand Forks, ND on September 12, 1991. Jacob lived a life where nothing would stop him. He was born with hydrocephalus which caused some developmental delays. However, when he was ready and determined to do something, he did it. He lived on his own for the last two years. He was currently working at Hugo's #3 where he did a variety of jobs, but operating the box crusher was his favorite. He also enjoyed aggravating numerous coworkers at the store. Jacob loved riding his 4 wheeler, going to the races, listening to Rock and Roll music and playing his farming simulator game on the computer. He really enjoyed a ride on the back of his dad's motorcycle. He taught us all so much and touched each person he met. He had a great sense of humor and an infectious smile. Survivors include his parents, Tim and Roberta Yanish, East Grand Forks, MN; sister, Lisa Yanish, East Grand Forks, MN; grandmothers, Elsie Yanish, East Grand Forks, MN and Sharon Olson, Grand Forks, ND along with his aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous other family and friends. Jacob was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Leonard Yanish and Robert Olson and his great grandparents. Funeral Services will be 10:30 AM Friday, August 7, 2015 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church of East Grand Forks, MN. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a 7:00 PM Prayer Service in Amundson Funeral Home of Grand Forks. Visitation will continue for the hour before the service in the church. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery of East Grand Forks, MN.
