Teri Rae Behr

April 11, 1952 — June 26, 2015

Teri Rae Behr, 63, of Grand Forks, ND died Friday, June 26, 2015 in her home surrounded by family. Teri Rae Corpron was born on April 11, 1952 in Minot, ND the daughter of Robert and Shirley (Ferguson) Corpron. She grew up and attended school in Stanley, ND and graduated from high school there in 1970. She then moved to Grand Forks and attended UND for secretarial studies. She married Eugene Behr on October 7, 1972 in Stanley, ND. Teri and Eugene made their home in Grand Forks where she worked as a legal secretary working for the GF County Sheriff's department in the 1970's and eventually moved to the States Attorney's Office and worked for the county for 15 years. Following that, she was a legal assistant for Shirley Dvorak in Grand Forks until the early 1990's, at which time the family relocated to Saudi Arabia. She worked for the US Army Office of Personnel Management for 4 years before moving back to the Grand Forks area, at which time she worked again as a legal assistant for Shirley Dvorak until her retirement from family and civil law in 1999. She finished her working career as a travel agent, for 10 years, with Brekke Tours. Teri lived in Iceland and Saudi Arabia for several years and traveled all over the globe. Some of her traveling highlights included soaking in the Icelandic Blue Lagoon, traversing the Panama Canal and Fjord cruising in Norway. In 2012 she took her family on a vacation to Alaska to celebrate the 40th wedding anniversary. Her last trip was in August 2014 when she took an 1100 mile road trip around Ireland with her daughter. Teri enjoyed cooking, trying new recipes and baking. She was a master at baking and decorating cakes, a skill she passed along to her two children. She was a wonderful seamstress making clothes, quilts and baby blankets for family and friends. She played piano for Sunday school at Trinity Lutheran in Manvel for many years. She was a big believer in paying it forward whether it was donating money to the humane society, cooking Christmas dinner for service members who were far from home, or paying for groceries for the person behind her in line. She spent her final 5 years of life adjusting to cancer. She was happy to donate her time volunteering at the cancer center in Arizona, attending fundraising events and visiting with other cancer patients about their experiences. She was proud to become an advocate for genetic testing and education so others wouldn't have to suffer with the same cancer as she had. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband, Eugene; children, Jennifer (Travis) Soper and Jeffrey Behr; grandchildren, Jace, Ruairi, Jordan, Vivianne (she was very happy and proud to be a Gramma!!!)
