Harold Myers

Harold Kenneth Myers, age 95, of Grand Forks, ND, passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2015. He was born April 9, 1920 in York, North Dakota, to William L. and Lena T. (Oeffner) Myers. He was the older brother of Warren and Helen (Myers) Olson. He grew up on a farm outside of York, ND, where he graduated from high school. He married Irma I. Armstrong on March 27, 1943, in Minnewaukan, ND. They began their life together farming in the area until moving their family to Fargo, ND in 1947. Upon graduating from trade school, he worked in the Fargo-Moorhead area as a sheet metal worker in the heating and air conditioning field until 1960, when the family moved to East Grand Forks, Minnesota, where he worked for the C.L. Linfoot, Company until 1981. Harold then worked for ECO-LAB for 10 years. He was proud to be a member of the sheet metal workers international association for over 50 years. He also was a wonderful woodworker who loved to make things for everyone in his own "playroom" which was a complete woodworking shop. He is survived by his children: Lana Myers, Belgrade, MN; Dorothy Anderson, Belgrade, MN; Carole (Vernon) Berg, Erskine, MN; Diana (Michael) Sletto, Crookston, MN; and Glenn (Brooks) Myers, Grand Forks, ND. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Adrianne (Michael) Winger, Crookston, parents of Lucas and Gavin; Emily (Winston) Chapman, Fort Drum, NY, parents of Clara and Gwendolyn; Rebecca (Wilfred, Jr.) Aho, Fort Riley, Kansas , parents of Cameron Rienk and Gideon; and Isaac (Amanda) Sletto, Crookston, parents of Abbilene; Pauline (Marc Ekstrand) Berg, Cincinnati, OH, parents of Nava and Ilan, Aaron and Michael; Alexander Berg of Hibbing, MN; and Roxanne (Robert Edwards) Berg of Beale Air Force Base, California. Harold was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother, sister, and infant son, Harold K. Myers, Jr. A private service for the family was held on Sunday, August 16, with burial at a later date in accordance with Harold's wishes.
