Arlen Ray "Art" Throndset, 81, of Grand Forks, ND, passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2015, at Altru Hospital. Art was born April 3, 1934, on his grandparents farm near Nekoma, ND. He attended school in Union and Crystal, ND before moving to Grand Forks with his family. He attended Winship school and graduated from Central High School in 1951. He graduated from UND with a degree in Accounting. Art lived briefly in San Francisco where he met Sharon Jenson. They were married on December 17, 1960, in Fargo, ND, and made their home in Grand Forks where they raised four children. Art worked as an accountant for several firms in Grand Forks. After retirement Art spent winters in North Fort Meyers, FL. Art was an avid sports fan and lifelong supporter of UND sports. He also enjoyed music and reading, and passed his love of literature on to his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his children, Desiree (James)Barnes of Arkadelphia, AR, Steven (Rhonda) Throndset of Kentwood, MI, Natalie Kuklok of St. Paul, MN, William (Jamie) Throndset of Raleigh, NC; grandchildren, Finnian Kuklok, Dylan Throndset, Colin Barnes, and Evelyn Throndset; siblings, Richard Throndset, Betty (Dennis) Gregoire of Grand Forks, Jerry (Andrea) Throndset of Lakefield, MN, Jacquelyn (Roy Robinson) Dwyer of Fargo, ND, Cheryl (Robert) Scott of North Fort Meyers, FL, James (Elaine) Throndset of Fargo, ND; aunts, Evelyn Williams and Iris Gellner and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends. Art is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Throndset and Charlotte Dobie Draxton; stepfather, Ellsworth Draxton, his wife of 45 years, Sharon; son-in-law, Sheameus Kuklok, and his grandson, Liam Kuklok. A Celebration of Life Service: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 12, 2015, at Amundson Funeral Home 2975 S. 42nd St. in Grand Forks. Visitation: One hour prior to the service.
