LaVerne B. Hanson-Lindenberger passed in peace on September 27, 2015 at the age of 90 in Grand Forks, ND. LaVerne was born July 1st, 1925 to John and Miriam Johnson of Bathgate, ND. Her parents ran the grocery store in Bathgate and LaVerne got to spend her days with her dad at the store which she greatly cherished. LaVerne had one sister and brother. After graduating from high school in Bathgate, she attended Union Commercial College, and worked at the K & W in East Grand Forks, MN. There she met M/Sgt. Alfred Hanson. They were united in marriage on September 11, 1946. They resided in Washington DC until Alfred was sent to Japan near the end of World War II. At this time, LaVerne moved back to Inkster. Alfred and LaVerne were blessed with two daughters. Vicki was born in May 1948, in Grand Forks, and Wendy was born in March 1952 in Austin, TX. After Alfred retired from the Airforce, they returned to Inkster where they made their home, until Alfred passing on July 7, 1961. On November 3, 1972, LaVerne was united in marriage to a farmer and childhood friend, Reynold Lindenberger in Bathgate, ND. To this marriage Reynold brought with him his eight children. They made their home in Bathgate and farmed until Reynold's retirement. Reynold passed away in 1999. LaVerne moved to Grand Forks, ND where she lived until her passing. LaVerne will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a loving mother, grandmother, and great friend. LaVerne leaves behind her daughters, Vicki (the late David) Scocchera, and Wendy (Larry) Sloan); Grandchildren, Kevin (Nicky) Wilson, Nick Scocchera, Jason Gardner, Chad (Melissa) Gardner; great grandchildren, Collin Wilson, Tim Wilson, Logan Gardner, Jaxon Gardner, Ava Gardner, Jordan Gardner, Emma Gardner, and Brady Gardner. Laverne was preceded in death by both of her husbands and a sister, Phyllis Monson, and brother, Wayne Johnson. Funeral Services will be 6:30 PM Thursday, October 1, 2015 in Amundson Funeral Home of Grand Forks. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Inkster Cemetery of Inkster, ND.
