Lillian M. Kuster, 95, of Grand Forks, passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2015, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks. Lillian Muriel Olson was born February 9, 1920, in Fargo, ND, the daughter of Alf & Sophie Olson. They moved to Grand Forks when she was nine years old and she graduated from Grand Forks Central High School at the age of 16. She then attended Aaker's Business School. Lillian married George Kuster in Crookston, MN, in 1947. Together they had 1 child, Georgia. George died in 2003. She worked for Armour's Meat Packing Plant and the GF County Superintendent's office as an Office Deputy where she retired after 33 years. Lillian enjoyed playing piano. She would help with music at Tufte Manor and was in the Sunshine Band & Silvertones at the Senior Center. She also enjoyed playing bingo, crossword puzzles, and scrabble. But most important of all was spending time with her family. She was a member of Son's of Norway Gyda Varden Lodge #21 and United Lutheran Church of Grand Forks. She is survived by her daughter, Georgia (Gary) Steenerson of Grand Forks; stepchildren, Gary (Karen) Kuster of Bakersfield, CA, and Marilyn (Rene') Fuentes of Issaquah, WA; grandchildren, Chad (Kristi) Litzinger of Grand Forks, Eric (Patsy) Litzinger of Grand Forks; great-grandchildren, Madison, Courtney, Marissah and Christian. Lillian was preceded in death by her parents. FUNERAL SERVICE: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 6, at United Lutheran Church in Grand Forks. VISITATION: One hour prior to the service at the church.
