James P Haus

James "Jim" Peter Haus, 74, Grand Forks, ND, went to his final resting place Saturday, November 7, 2015, at Altru Hospital. Jim was born November 7, 1941, in Calio, ND, to Bert and Clara Haus, graduated from Egeland, ND, in 1958, joined the National Guard in Cando, ND, in 1961, and met his wife, Jean (Olson) Haus, of 52 years and married July 27, 1963. He worked for Phil Deraney as a mechanic and started his optical career at Walman Optical where he worked for many years. Jim enjoyed hunting and fishing, western movies, and visiting with his kids and grandkids. He was a lifetime honorary member of the Knights of Columbus. Jim is survived by his wife, Jean; children, Steven (Pamela) Haus, Judy (James) Richardson, Keith (Tammy) Haus, Christopher (Joan) Haus; grandchildren, Chasidy, Dylan, Brady, Tyler, Samantha, Ashley, Lindsey, Alexus, Joshua, and Avery; and one great grandson, Coltyn; brothers, Eugene (Cathy) and Gilbert (Candy) Haus; and sister, Eileen (late James Fiedler). Jim was preceded in death by his father, mother, and daughter ClaraVi Ann. Jim will be dearly missed by all. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, November 12, 2015 in Holy Family Catholic Church, 1018 18th Ave S, Grand Forks. Visitation will be for the hour before Mass in the church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery of Grand Forks.
