Patricia Kramchuck

March 23, 1941 — November 8, 2015

On Sunday, November 8, 2015 at 9:35PM our dearest mother, Patricia Rosemary Kramchuck, passed on through the gates of Heaven and into the Kingdom of God. A true Saint! She was only seventy four years old and had fought a lengthy battle with Alzheimers. She was the most beautiful woman inside and out, as many can attest to! She was surrounded by her loving family her entire life up until her final day at home, which she was proud of! Patricia Rosemary Metcalf was born on March 23, 1941 in Grand Forks, ND, the daughter of Howard, Sr. and Mabel Metcalf (Nee, Meyers). She was one of 13 siblings. Patty grew up in the Sherlock Park neighborhood and graduated from Sacred Heart School in East Grand Forks, MN. Patty grew up in a large family of which many of her older brothers proudly served in the military! It was that legacy and the fact that her brother, Jack Metcalf served in WWII and had survived the attack on Pearl Harbor while stationed on the battleship USS Arizona! They were the greatest generation in our countries history! Patty had grown up in the 40's and 50's when cruising meant driving N. 5th St. and frequenting the Keg's Drive-In! She met the love of her life, Richard John Kramchuck during that time and they were united in marriage at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Grand Forks, ND on Aug. 11th, 1959. From this union twelve children were raised during the next twenty years! Patricia was a true working mom at different establishments over the years. Most of her working history was at the E.G.F. V.F.W. and the Eagles Club also. She was very devoted to volunteering and worked many club events. She enjoyed being an Auxiliary member of the clubs. She thoroughly enjoyed the friends that she had made through the V.F.W. Club over the years! She was an excellent Bingo player! She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be forever in our hearts and greatly missed! Mom was truly blessed by God! She is survived by her children, Betty Malone, Teresa Oss, John Kramchuck, Angie Kramchuck, Richard Kramchuck, Jr., Collette Lee, Jody Borden, Abby Morley, Brian Kramchuck, Andrew Kramchuck, Todd Kramchuck and Sara Desjarlais; 29 grandchildren,14 great grandchildren; siblings, Rosemarie Oleary, Maureen Schreder, Catherine Anderson, Robert Metcalf and Terry Metcalf; loving companion Rodger Ellingson. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers; Jack, Fritzy, Bill, Howard and Joey; sisters, Margaret and Irene. Funeral services will be on Thursday, Nov. 12, 2015 at 1:00 PM in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 South 42nd St., Grand Forks. Visitation will be for two hours before the service in the funeral home. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, East Grand Forks.
