Evelyn R. Hass, 90, of Grand Forks, ND died Sunday, November 15, 2015 at the Prairie Village nursing home in Hatton, ND. Evelyn Ruth VanCleve was born on October 15, 1925 the daughter of Dudley and Evelyn (Jones) VanCleve. She grew up and attended school in Osakis, MN graduating from high school there in 1943. She married Martin Walter Hass at the Osakis Presbyterian Church on June 16, 1946. They made their home in Grand Forks and Evelyn worked for Sears as a division manager. Evelyn was very active in the Immanuel Lutheran LWML, the VFW Auxiliary, and the American Legion Auxiliary #6. Evelyn enjoyed spending time with family and fishing at the Lake of the Woods. She cherished her many years spent in Arizona during the winter months with her husband Martin. She is survived by sons, Bradley Hass and Harold Hass; daughters, Judith Lee and Susan (Tom) Jacobs; 13 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Martin; son, Johnny; daughter-in-law, Susan Hass; brother Wayne (who died in Germany during WWII); sisters, Marjorie Sorlie, Eleanor Hommeland, Elousie VanCleve; brother, Clyde; and a grandson, Peter Jacobs. Funeral services will be on Thursday, Nov.19, 2015 at 2:00 PM in Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1710 Cherry St., Grand Forks, ND. Visitation will be for the hour before the service in the church. Interment will be in Memorial Park South Cemetery, Grand Forks.
