  Ryan N. McGlynn, 41, Grand Forks, ND and formerly of Stephen, MN, died Tuesday, December 1, 2015 Near Mayville, ND.Ryan Neil McGlynn was born May 17, 1974 in Grand Forks, ND the son of Neil and Roberta (Carlson) McGlynn. Ryan attended school in Stephen, MN and graduated from Stephen High School in 1992. He graduated from NDSU in 1996 with a bachelor’s degree in crop and weed science.While at NDSU, Ryan was an athletic standout and was a national pole vault champion during his Bison career. He was a nine-time NCAA Division II All-American, claiming six honors in the pole vault and three in the decathlon. In addition, he was named the 1996 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Year by the U.S. Track Coaches Association. He was the winner of the 1995-96 Albrecht Presidential Trophy as NDSU's top male student-athlete, and was inducted into the NDSU Hall of Fame in 2013.Ryan's passion for agriculture was one of the many qualities that will never be forgotten.  His enthusiasm and leadership was evident with all of the people he interacted with.  He spent his successful career as a Customer Development Manager for Winfield where he covered areas in North Dakota and Minnesota.  Ryan enjoyed running, hunting, fishing and snowmobiling.  His favorite times were spent with his family at their lake home on Union Lake, MN.Ryan married Cheryl Camp on July 6, 2002 at Maple Lake Lutheran Church in Erskine, MN. She survives along with children, Ellie, Owen and Liam, all of Grand Forks; his parents, Neil and Roberta McGlynn, Stephen, MN; brothers, Steve (Melanie) McGlynn and their children, Christopher, Abigail, Zachary and William, and David (Alana) McGlynn and their children, Thomas, Claire and Emmie, Stephen, MN.Ryan was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Fred Camp and by his grandparents, Steve and Gerri McGlynn, Raymond and Clara Carlson, and Clara’s second husband, Smike Espeseth. Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Monday, December 7, 2015 at Faith Evangelical Free Church in Grand Forks. Visitation will be Sunday from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM with a 7:30 PM prayer service at Faith Evangelical Free Church. Visitation will continue for the hour before Monday's service at the church. Burial will be at Memorial Park South Cemetery of Grand Forks.
