Marlene Elgin-Augustin, 52, passed away on December 17, 2015. Marlene was born on January 28, 1963 in Grand Forks, ND to her parents, Marvin Elgin and Pauline Kvamme. She graduated from Red River High School and also attended UND. In 1985, she was injured in a major accident that had a tremendous effect on her life. After recovering, she involved herself in helping anybody that needed help. She had a generosity that couldn’t be matched, and in turn asked nothing for herself. She enjoyed traveling and made friends everywhere she went. Marlene was a die-hard Fighting Sioux Hockey fan and went to the games until she was no longer able. Marlene will always be remembered for her charm and happy attitude. Marlene is survived by her husband, Paul; mother, Pauline (Odin) Kvamme; brother, Mike and his wife, Shari along with a nephew, Justin and niece, Sara. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Margaret Augustin; brother-in-law, Steve Augustin; sisters-in-law, Deb (Dave) Schulenburg and Peg (Ken) Carlson along with nephews, Adam and Grant. Marlene was preceded in death by her father, Marv. Honorary pallbearers are her nephews, Justin Elgin, Adam and Grant Carlson and her niece, Sara Elgin. A celebration of Life will take place on Tuesday, December 22, 2015, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Amundson Funeral Home of Grand Forks.
