Roger J. Stygar

Roger J. Stygar, 73, Grand Forks, died Sunday, December 20, 2015 in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks.  Roger John Stygar, the son of Walter and Regina (Langowski) Stygar was born August 5, 1942 at Minto, North Dakota.  He attended school in the Minto area.  Roger was employed in construction work in North Dakota.  He enjoyed watching football, hockey games and spending time with his family and especially his 3 grandchildren.  Roger married Mary Munoz.  On September 7, 2012 Roger married Shirley Hendrickson at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Grand Forks.  Roger is survived by his wife, Shirley Hendrickson, Grand Forks;  a daughter, Tina Stygar (Ken Delorme), Grand Forks;  3 grandchildren, Kassandra, Kaleb and Kateri;  brothers, John (Cathy) Stygar, Mike (Bonnie) Stygar, Pat Stygar, Greg (Susan) Stygar;  sisters, Theresa “Teri” Giles, and Mary Berg; step-children, Beverly Gonzales, Stephen Hendrickson, Sharon Dullerud, Charlotte (Mark) Franks, Vergil (Laura) Hendrickson, and Anita (Stephen) Gundvaldson;  several step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.   He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Regina Stygar.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 26, 2015 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 215 Belmont Rd., Grand Forks.  Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service in church.  Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Minto, North Dakota.
