Mildred M. Lucht

August 12, 1923 — January 17, 2016

Mildred Lucht passed away Sunday, January 17, 2016 in her apartment at Founders Ridge in Bloomington,  MN from Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma surrounded by her loving family. She was born Mildred Marian Brunsvold in Landa, N.D. on August 12, 1923.  She moved to Souris, N.D. and graduated from Souris, HS.  She went on to attend the N.D. School of Forestry where she studied bookkeeping.   On August 21, 1944 she married Stanley Lucht of Bottineau.   In 1952 they moved to Grand Forks where they lived until their recent move to Founders Ridge, a senior facility in Bloomington MN to be near their oldest son, Dwight. Mildred is preceded in death by her parents, Asle and Nora Brunsvold and six siblings.  She is survived by her husband Stanley of 71 years and 2 remaining siblings, Stanley Brunsvold of Seattle WA. and Inez Midboe of Hoople, ND.  She is also survived by her 2 sons and wives, Dwight and Hazelann Lucht of Prior Lake, MN and Terry and Mary Lucht of Houston, TX.    She had 4 grandchildren whom she adored:  Deanna married to Jeff Laue with 3 children, Henry, Hayden and Hanna,  Alex Lucht and wife, Karen and son Gavin,  Patty Ann married to Keith Piassoli with daughter Claire, and Christine Lucht. Millie was a housewife and loving mother.   She loved to dance winning many dance contests with her favorite partner, Stanley.   Millie was a great writer who enjoyed sending cards and letters almost as much as she enjoyed receiving them.  She also was a whist wizard playing with friends and family as often as she could.   She was a devoted member of United Lutheran Church of Grand Forks for 62 years and continued to watch the services on the computer in their apartment each week.   We will always be proud to remember her as mom, grandma and friend. We rejoice to have had her in our lives, and are grateful for the special gifts she gave us all. Memorial Service 11 am, Saturday, January 23, 2016  with visitation 1 hour prior at United Lutheran Church, 324 Chestnut St.  in Grand Forks.  In lieu of flowers, if you’d like, please make a donation in Millie Lucht’s name to the United Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society.
