Patti Lynette Olson

Patti Lynette Stenerson was born September 12, 1950 in Grafton, ND to Harlan and Ardell (Elton) Stenerson.  She grew up in Adams, ND and graduated from Adams High School in 1968. She married Clayton "Butch" Olson on June 28, 1969 at Mountain Lutheran Church in Adams.  Later that year they moved to Grand Forks where they have lived for 46 happy years. Patti worked for Grand Forks Head Start, beginning as the primary cook until she earned her CDA from the University of North Dakota, has been working as a Paraprofessional ever since.  She has lovingly cared for thousands of young children over the course of 30 years.  She was preparing to retire at the end of the 2017 school year.  She also worked as a certified nursing assistant at Valley Memorial Nursing Home. She was a faithful member of Augustana Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School and assisted with confirmation. Patti was the ultimate mom and grandma, both to her biological family as well as many others whom she considered her "kids."  She loved playing computer games, Bunko nights with her girlfriends, going to Mahnomen.  She enjoyed watching her grandson play hockey and was his #1 fan, and loved spending time with her granddaughters always enjoying their summer visits.  Her family will remember her infectious laugh, her kind heart, her generosity, her gentle spirit and her genuine love of her family and friends. She is lovingly remembered by her husband of 46 years, Clayton; her son, Tom (Melissa) Olson and their daughters, Abigail and Alexis from Janesville, WI; Daughter, Shannon Olson and her son, Reed from Grand Forks; Brother, Randy Stenerson; Brothers-in-law, Ronald Olson & Stanley Jerome; Sister-in-law, Janice (William) Way; Sister-in-law Marge Luger and numerous nieces, nephews and Godchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, in-laws (Lloyd and Viola Olson), her sister Peggy Jerome,  and her nephew Lucas Jerome. The family would like to thank the nurses from the SCCU at Grand Forks Altru Hospital, especially, Disney, Stacey and Tyler, for their excellent care of Patti and support of our family. Patti will never be gone.  She will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her!! Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Augustana Lutheran Church 520 University Ave. in Grand Forks, ND. Visitation: 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service Friday, January 22 at Amundson Funeral Home in Grand Forks.  Visitation will continue for the hour prior to the service at the church.
