Doris Eulalia Burket

Doris E. Burket, 93, of Grand Forks, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Valley Eldercare surrounded by her family. Doris was born August 21, 1922, in Gilby, ND, the daughter of Thomas & Theodora (Johnson) Brusegaard.  She grew up and attended school in Gilby. Doris married Chapin Burket on October 16, 1944, in Crookston, MN.  Together they made their home in Grand Forks, raising 3 children together.  She was a homemaker and also worked 19 years for the GF County Courthouse. Doris enjoyed spending time at Maple Lake.  She also liked to knit and crochet and loved spending time with family. The chapter of a great generation of Brusegaards closes. Doris is survived by her sons, Robert (Toni) Burket, Steven (Charlotte) Burket; daughter, Nancy (Raphael) Slominski; grandchildren, Cheri (Todd), Amy (Roger), Ann (Derrick), Kate, Brandon, Krista (Eric), Lee, Jared; great-grandchildren, Amanda, Ross, Aaron, Sami, Logan, Noah, Brynn; great-great-grandchildren, Jack and Grace and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Chapin; siblings, Theodore, Arthur, Conrad, Adelaide, Thelma, Hazel(Gladys), Margaret, Dorothy, Raymond and Richard. Memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 2, 2016 in Amundson Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 2, from 5 -7 p.m. at Amundson Funeral Home.
