Thomas Gene Christenson

Thomas G. Christenson, 82, formerly of Grand Forks, died February 2, 2016, at Luther Memorial Home in Mayville, ND. Thomas was born January 9, 1934, in Superior, WI, the son of Clarence & Helen (Fair) Christenson.  Thomas graduated from Central High School in Superior in 1953. Thomas married Alice Hinman Nov. 15, 1956, in Pine City, MN. They lived in California, Puerto Rico, Arkansas, Washington, Sault Ste. Marie, MI, Minot, ND, before residing in Grand Forks. He joined the US Air Force where he served in the Vietnam War and retired after 32 years as Chief Master Sgt. Thomas enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching war & western movies and listening to country music.  He was also an avid car enthusiast. Thomas was also a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Shriners. Thomas is survived by his daughter, Tammy of Grand Forks; sister, Mary (Johnny) Robertson of Leesburg, FL; 1 nephew, Johnny Wayne Robertson of Oshkosh, WI; nieces, Karen Ashley of Hampton, FL; Pamela Walker of Tifton, GA, and sister-in-law, Audrey Hutchinson of Grand Forks. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Alice; and brothers, Danny & Martin. Memorial Service: 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 5, 2016 at Amundson Funeral Home in Grand Forks. Visitation: One hour prior to the funeral service.
