Deborah Jane Morseth

June 23, 1954 — February 5, 2016

Deb Morseth Deb Morseth passed away on February 5, 2016 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND. Deb Morseth was born on June 23, 1954 in Northwood, ND, the daughter of Paul and Lila (Lenz) Infeld.  She lived in Larimore, ND until she was in the 5th grade.  They moved to Grand Forks, ND where they lived until she was married.  She went to elementary school at Viking Elementary, Junior High School at South Middle School and High School at Red River High School in which she graduated in 1972. Deb started dating Dennis in 1970 through friends.  Deb wanted to marry Dennis but Dennis enlisted in the Army while they were dating because he didn’t know if “she was it.” While in basic training, he called her and told her “guess what? We’re getting married.” On May 12, 1973, Deb married the love of her life, high school sweetheart, best friend and soul mate Dennis Morseth at Calvary Lutheran Church in Grand Forks, ND.  This year they would have celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary. After their marriage, the Army moved Deb and Dennis to Colorado. They lived there 6 months, then he went TDY to the Nekoma missile site in Langdon, ND. Then Dennis got orders to Korea.  He went there unaccompanied for 3 months.  In spite of her mother Lila’s opinion Deb moved with Tanya their oldest daughter to Korea to be with Dennis. They finished the tour as a family and returned to Grand Forks, ND. Deb’s joy of her life was her family, grandchildren, and furry friends. She enjoyed sharing stories about them and said there was no greater ‘gift’ of life than her grandkids. Deb loved reading, crocheting, cooking, spending time at the lake with her husband and family and always enjoyed the upcoming holidays in anticipation of being with family. She loved her many pets as they were her ‘babies’ that she adored. A devoted Grand Forks County employee she worked 20 years as the Administrative Assistant to both the Grand Forks County Correctional Center and Juvenile Detention Centers as the Assistance Director of Tax Equalization to her present positon in Finance & Tax Correction Accounts Technician. She is survived by her husband, Dennis; children Tanya (Brad) Trahan of Warren, MN, Amy (Jonathan) Shields of Dayton, OH, and Melissa (Brian) Vikan of Langdon, ND; grandchildren Cooper Granberg, Mason Granberg, Austin Granberg, Parker Renner, Kayleigh Renner, Jenna Shields, Colin Shields, Isabelle Vikan, Sophia Vikan, Aiden Vikan; sisters Jackie Kvamme, Lori (Jeffrey) Parent, brother Greg (Cathy) Infeld, brother-in-law Jacob Dvorak; furry friends Phoebe, Jessie, Bootsie, Trixie, and Jazzy; & several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Paul and Lila Infeld, sisters Paulette Dvorak and Beverly Aure. A celebration of life service will be held at the Amundson Funeral Home in Grand Forks, ND on Wednesday, February 10th, 2016 at 2:00pm with a visitation one hour prior to the service.
