Theresa A. Gratzek, 93, died Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND. Theresa was born in Argyle, MN on May 2, 1922 to Praxide and John Nowacki. She graduated from Argyle Public School in 1940. She worked for the Marshall County Highway Engineering Dept. for 34 years, retiring in 1986. Theresa also helped on the farm. Theresa married Lambert J. Gratzek on October 18, 1948. They resided in Alma Township of Argyle, MN their entire married life and were members of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Following Lambert’s passing in 1996, Theresa moved from the family farm to Argyle where she lived until September 2014. She then moved to the Tamarac Living Center in Stephen, MN where she currently resided. The joys of her life were her grandchildren (Matthew, Kyle, Courtney) and great-grandchildren (Camille, Gunnar). She enjoyed playing cards, entertaining family and friends, going to casinos, celebrating her birthday, fishing, and traveling to many destinations with Lambert. Theresa was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lambert; her parents; brothers Clarence, Arnold, and Ralph; sisters Delphine and Isabelle. She is survived by her son Richard (Cindy) Gratzek of Argyle, MN; grandchildren Matthew (Courtney) Gratzek and Kyle Gratzek of Argyle, MN; two great-grandchildren Camille and Gunnar Gratzek of Argyle, MN; sister Adele (Roger) Guthrie of Chicago, IL. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. with a Rosary at 6:30 p.m. followed by a Prayer Service on Friday, February 19, 2016, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:45 a.m. Saturday, February 20, 2016 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Argyle, MN. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. preceding the funeral. Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery.
