Jeanne Srur

Jeanne Srur, 88, of Grand Forks died Friday, February 19, 2016, at Valley Eldercare Center in Grand Forks. Jeanne was born to Joseph & Sylvia (Dye) Burger on May 27, 1927, in Britton, SD, where she grew up and attended schools.  At 18 she moved to Aberdeen, SD, where she met Phillip Srur.  They were united in marriage March 11, 1950.  They moved to Grand Forks, ND in 1951 where they raised 3 children. Jeanne worked for Miller’s Grocery and Valley Dairy for many years before retiring. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and sewing. Jeanne is survived by her sons, Phillip “Craig” (Nancee) Srur of New Hope, MN, Brad (Carol) Srur of Grand Forks, Todd (Karen) Srur of Fargo; grandchildren, Tyler (Teri) Srur of Casselton, ND, Hayley Srur of Minneapolis, Jace Srur and Jake Srur of Fargo, ND; great-grandchildren, Liberty, Rheagan and Tyler Jr. and several nieces & nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip; infant son, Mark and brothers, Darrel, Donald and Lawrence.  MEMORIAL SERVICE: 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 22 at University Lutheran Church in Grand Forks. VISITATION: Sunday, Feb. 21, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with a 7pm prayer service at Amundson Funeral Home.  Visitation will continue for the hour prior to the service.
