Anita Pauline Rieke

  Anita Pauline Rieke, 89, passed away February 27, 2016 in the Prairieview area of Valley Memorial Home Woodside Village, Grand Forks. Anita was born June 4, 1926 in Baker, ND, the daughter of Walter and Mary (Blocker) Allan. She grew up and attended school in York, ND. Anita married Vernon Rieke on May 7, 1955. They lived in Devils Lake, Casselton and Langdon, ND where they raised their three children. She taught school in a one room school house and worked as a bookkeeper for various businesses. She enjoyed reading books, watching Sioux Hockey, the Cubs play baseball and spending time with family. Anita is survived by her daughter, Susan Helm of Jamestown, ND; sons, David (Steph) Rieke of Grand Forks, and Dan Rieke of North Hollywood, CA; her four wonderful grandchildren, Kayla (Landon) Schneider, Lacey Rieke, Grand Forks, Paige Helm, Bismarck, ND and Dalton Helm, Bismarck, ND Anita was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Mary; her husband, Vernon; and by her siblings, Larry, Sherman, Richard and Robert. Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, March 3, 2016 in Amundson Funeral Home of Grand Forks, ND. Visitation will be for the hour before the service in the funeral home. Burial will be in Immanuel North Cemetery, Buxton, ND
