Brent Timothy Olson

Brent Timothy Olson, 31, Northwood, formerly of Grand Forks, died Thursday, April 14, 2016. Brent was born May 5, 1984 in Grand Forks, the son of Marc and Renee (Yutrzenka) Olson.  He attended school in Grand Forks, graduating from Red River High School in 2002. He then went to Northland and received his Welders certificate in 2004. In 2009 Brent married Mandy Munkeby in Carrington, ND at Trinity Lutheran Church. They were blessed with their children Ava, 8, and Christian, 5, who were the joy of Brent’s life. Brent worked as a welder and fabricator working at Wells Concrete then Naastad Excavating.  He also worked with his metal forge at home in his spare time. Brent was an avid outdoorsman, who loved to hunt and fish and his dogs had a special place in Brent’s heart. He was a master griller and a smoke pit master and an avid fan of "Fighting Sioux" hockey and the Minnesota Vikings. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles and had a passion for Harley Davidson's.  Brent is survived by his wife, Mandy; children, Ava, and Christian, Northwood; parents, Marc and Renee Olson, Grand Forks; siblings, Brian (Janelle) Cheney, Moorhead, MN, Alison (Mike) Renaud, San Antonio, TX, and Geoffrey Olson, Grand Forks; his nieces and nephews; Grandmother, Lorrayne Yutrzenka, Argyle, MN; Mandy’s parents, siblings, grandparents, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gilbert and Carolyn Olson, and Grandfather, Ed Yutrzenka. A memorial service will be held Sunday, April 17, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. in Amundson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the start of the service in the funeral home.
