Adella Steffl

  Adella “Del” Marie Steffl left this world on Monday, April 18, 2016 following a short stay at Woodside Village, to join her beloved husband Kenneth and daughter Karen Kulzer. Adella Marie Schouviller was born on Feb. 21, 1925 and was raised on the family farm near Mahnomen, MN, one of 10 children.   She married Kenneth Steffl on June 10, 1947, and they spent 61 years together, raising 7 children; living in Mahnomen, MN, Grand Forks, ND and Larimore, ND.   Adella, Family Matriarch, had a smile for everyone. She was a master at anything she tried. She worked Hard and was employed outside the home at times, but her family was always her focus. Her hobbies included sewing, quilt making and her famous crocheted doilies. She enjoyed hosting friends and family, a good game of cards, and nurtured and nourished all. Nobody went home hungry. Adella made great pies, donuts, and overnight buns! Family gatherings were the center of her world.   She is survived by her children, Paulette (Dave) Hubbard, Linda (Don) Palmiscno, Pam (Keith) Haake, Brian (Heather) Steffl, Kevin (Cindy) Steffl, Jeff (Lisa) Steffl; son-in-law, Mike Kulzer; 26 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews who considered her their "second mom."   Adella was preceded in death by her husband, Ken; daughter, Karen; six sisters and three brothers and their spouses; Ken's sister and her husband.   Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Friday, April 22, 2016 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Grand Forks, ND. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a 7:00 PM Prayer Service in Amundson Funeral Home of Grand Forks. Visitation will continue for the hour before the service in the church. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery of Larimore, ND.
