Allan "Andy" Moen

Allan K. “Andy” Moen, 90, Grand Forks, ND, died Wednesday, May 4, 2016 in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks.  Allan Kenneth Moen, the son of Adolph and Manghild (Eilertson) Moen was born April 20, 1926 on the family farm near McCanna, North Dakota.  Allan graduated from Larimore High School in 1944 and attended UND for one year.  Allan Moen and Alice Wolfgram were united in marriage on June 5, 1949 at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, Niagara, North Dakota. They lived and farmed near McCanna for many years and later moved to Grand Forks where he was employed by UND Plant Services until he retired.  Allan was a member of the school board, the elevator board, and sang in a quartet at Elm Grove Lutheran Church for many years.  Allan is survived by his wife, Alice, Grand Forks;  three daughters, Catherine Ward (Terry), Brighton, Michigan, Phyllis Caroline (David), Bottineau, North Dakota, and Judy Watkins (Vince), LaMoure, North Dakota;  grandchildren, Justin Ward, Aaron Ward (Sarah), Erin Caroline, Ben Watkins (Brianne), Becky Watkins, and Andrea Watkins;  several nieces and nephews. Allan was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Carol  Kolding. Memorial Services:  2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 7, 2016 in Elm Grove Lutheran Church, McCanna, North Dakota.  Visitation:  will be for one hour prior to the service in the church. Interment:  will be in Bellevue Cemetery, Larimore, North Dakota
