Barb Drees

  Barbara Louise Drees, 60, of Grand Forks was called to her heavenly home on May 19, 2016 at Valley Eldercare. Barb was the daughter of Marion (Augustin) and Albert Drees Jr. of Thompson, ND and the granddaughter of Sophia Augustin. She was born on June 5, 1955 and attended school at Thompson, ND.   Barb was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She spent many hours at Sharon Lutheran Church volunteering for Vacation Bible School, singing with the church choir, and assisting with various other activities. During the summer, Barb also helped to distribute lunches to children with the local the food pantry. She also volunteered with hospice for fifteen years. She enjoyed traveling, camping, outdoors, and spending time with children.   She was survived by brothers Robert (Lynne), Rodney (Dana), and Lyle (Linda) Drees and a sister Darlene (David) Clifton of the Grand Forks area. She is also survived by nieces Lisa Moody, Allyson, Kirsten and Nichole Drees, and Kelly (Casey) McWilliams and nephews Alan (Erin) Moody, Brandon (Chasity) Drees, and Ryan Drees. Great-nieces and nephews include Justice, Gunnar, and Xander Moody, Ella and Porter McWilliams, and Norah and Aubrey Drees whom she loved very much.   She was preceded in death by her parents Marion and Albert Drees Jr. and her grandparents.    A celebration of life will be at Sharon Lutheran Church on Monday, May 23rd at 11am with visitation one hour prior to the service. A prayer service will be held on Sunday, May 22nd at 7pm at Amundson Funeral Home with visitation from 5-7pm.   In lieu of flowers or other memorials, gifts can be sent to Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch in Fargo, ND or Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fargo, ND (broadcaster of “The Hour of Worship” on WDAY-6).
