Nancy Anne Hildebrant

Nancy Anne Hildebrant, age 74 of Grand Forks, ND, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 in her home. Nancy was born November 11, 1941 the daughter of Abraham and Ann Schmidt.  She was raised in Altona, Manitoba, and attended school at Miller Collegiate.  Nancy was united in marriage to Vernon Hildebrant on September 29, 1961 and resided in Drayton, ND prior to moving to Grand Forks, where they made their home and blessed with two children, Troy and Terri. Nancy worked at various part-time jobs and volunteered her time, but found her greatest joy in raising her children and taking care of the family home. She also enjoyed singing, quilting, knitting, camping and watching UND hockey games. Nancy is survived by her children Troy Hildebrant, Terri (Kerry) Hildebrant Carlson and her grandchildren Alyssa Carlson and Alec Carlson.  She is also survived by her brothers Henry Schmidt, Jake Schmidt, and Abram Schmidt as well as her sisters Justina (Schmidt) Doerksen and Betty Schmidt. She was preceded in death by her husband Vernon, parents Abraham and Anne, brothers John Schmidt, Peter Schmidt, and Ben Schmidt. A service to celebrate Nancy’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 S. 42nd St., Grand Forks.  Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.  Interment will be in Memorial Park North Cemetery, Grand Forks.
