Nathan Matthew Nordstrom

September 5, 1975 — May 30, 2016

Shiver me timbers! I've crossed the sea To a white sandy beach With a shady palm tree. As I sit with a rum and coke in my  hand, I  reminisce all the memories I had. A lot of fun was made, I had a great life Many thanks go out to my friends, family and  wife. To all who will miss me as I will them Each one a treasure, each one a gem. My anchor has dropped And I have to swim shoreward My time has stopped, so there's no more moving forward. All the time in the world me thinks I'll have to plan my pranks on you lasses and lads. My time on earth was full of fun So why any different now that I'm done? If a prank doesn't suit you perhaps I will see, If an artwork instead might be painted by me. With a pallet of colors and canvas of white I'll paint you a sunset ever so bright. I may even sit and strum a few bars, I hope you can hear me play from afar. So many friends made around the world, Too many to count if the list unfurled. So let me leave you one jolly farewell, til’ we meet again or you go to hell! Nathan Matthew Nordstrom, 40, of Grand Forks, passed away, Monday, May 30, 2016 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks. Nathan bore many nicknames that described his greatness, was a like Viking pirate that stole everyone's heart on every continent that he sailed to, every team that he was part of and everyone he met. He was born Sept 5, 1975, with a fiery red hair that warmed everyone’s heart. He was an intelligent, hard worker, with quick-witted humor that captivated and inspired everyone.  Nathan is survived by his wife, Jhoana, and 2 children, Sadira and Zevi that served as his anchor and compass. Also surviving are his mother, Pamela Larson Strode; older brother, Garrett Nordstrom and father, Darrell (Kate) Larson; grandmother, Naomi “Toots” Sidie and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his biological father, Robert Nordstrom Jr., grandfather, Don Sidie; grandparents, Dolores & Robert, Sr. Nordstrom and grandparents, Joe & Blanch Larson. Now he had to strike sails to his new found paradise with sunny blue sky, pristine waters and with white sand beaches … and don’t forget his Rum and Coke.   He left his heart for us to keep while we stand this pier and send him away in his peaceful keep.
