Keith Walter

Keith A. Walter, 66, Grand Forks, died Monday, May 30, 2016 at home.   Keith Alan Walter, the son of Floyd and Beatrice (Werre) Walter was born in Grand Forks on February 26, 1950.  He attended local schools and graduated from Central High School.  He was employed for over 20 years by Burlington Northern Railroad.   Keith Walter and Jacqueline (Schmidt)   were united in marriage in 1982 in Todd County, Minnesota.  They lived at Staples, Minnesota.  Jacqueline died in 1992 and the family relocated back to Grand Forks in 1994.  Keith enjoyed hunting, fishing, and cooking.  He was also quite a storyteller.   Keith is survived by his children, Keya Marie Cooke (Eric), Woodbury, MN, Chole Eby, Buffalo, MN, Jake Walter (Heather), Grand Forks, Casey Walter, Grand Forks, and Kris Walter, Thief River Falls, MN;  8 grandchildren;  siblings, Karen Teigen (John), Rugby, ND, Kim Van Etten (Gary), Salt Lake City, UT, and Kandy Walter, Grand Forks.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and a sister, Kathy.  A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Keith’s life will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 3, 2016 in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 S. 42nd St., Grand Forks.
