Marcella Frandsen

April 27, 1924 — June 2, 2016

Marcella M. Frandsen, 92, Grand Forks, died Thursday, June 2, 2016 in Valley Memorial Homes Eldercare Center, Grand Forks.    Marcella Marie Mayer, the daughter of Stanley and Alice (Shirek) Mayer was born on a farm known as “The Pickle Farm” near Lawton, North Dakota on April 27, 1924. She attended rural schools and graduated from Michigan High School in 1942.   She married Allan Enger at Larimore, ND and they lived on a farm near Larimore, ND and moved to Grand Forks in 1952.  She married Eugene Weaver in 1969 and they continued to live in Grand Forks.  Eugene died in 1978.  She married John Frandsen in 1989.  They lived in Tacoma, Washington, moving back to Michigan, ND in 1996.  John died in 2002.    Marcella was quite a talented and artistic person.  She could do most anything including driving a 4 horse team at planting, sewing,   mending draperies, painting, wallpapering, knitting, crocheting, baking, and being a neighborhood beautician. She was also a custodian at Central High School in Grand Forks.   Marcella is survived by her children, Joseph Enger (Wanda), Helena, MT, Duane Enger (Joan), Ft. Shaw, MT, Allan Enger (Connie Halvorson), Roseau, MN, Alice Lund, Grand Forks; 19 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren;  siblings, Stella Shirek (James), Lakota, ND, George Mayer (Ethel Beaver) Niagara, ND, Judy Larson (Gus), Wasilla, AK, James Mayer, St. Paul, MN;  step-children, Helen Enger (Melvin Casteel), Columbia, MO, Elaine Weaver, Grand Forks, ND, Jon Frandsen (Rebecca), Los Angeles, CA;  14 step-grandchildren, 29 step-great grandchildren, 12 step great-great grandchildren.    She was preceded in death by her parents; 3 husbands; sons, James Enger and Richard Enger;  grandson, Jason Enger; siblings, Otto Mayer, Gus Mayer, Stanley Mayer, Blanche Addition, Alice Wimer, Roseann Erickson; 2 step-grandchildren, Sean Ralls, and Debra Ralls; step-great-granddaughter, Morgan Myers.
