Marlow Anderson

September 25, 1930 — June 3, 2016

Marlow Anderson, 85, Rural Grand Forks, died Friday, June 3, 2016 at home. Marlow, the son of Thora and Axel Anderson,  was born September 25, 1930 at Mapes, North Dakota.   He was raised on the family farm at Mapes and graduated from Michigan, ND High School in 1949.   He served in the US Air Force from 1950-1953 during the Korean War.  After he was discharged from military service he worked in construction in the Grand Forks area and with Western Fruit Express, a subsidiary of Burlington Northern Railway, retiring in 1995.  On April 25, 1956 he married Jean Nelson of Warren, Minnesota.  Survivors include five children, Audrey (Ed) Haskell, Judy (Jim) Augustine, Dick (Cathy), all of Grand Forks, Neil (Mary), Wentzville, MO, and Eric (Marci), San Antonio, TX; 11 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean, who died in 2003; his parents, Thora and Axel; four sisters; five brothers; and his friend and canine companion, Daisy. Memorial Services will be 11:00 am Tuesday, June 7, 2016 in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 S. 42nd St., Grand Forks.  Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.  Private Family interment will be at a later date.
