Lila M. Loun, 82, Grand Forks, died Saturday, June 4, 2016 in Valley Memorial Homes Eldercare Center Transitional Care Unit. Lila Mae Meyers, the daughter of Albert and Alice (Miller) Meyers was born on a farm near Thompson, North Dakota on November 25, 1933. She attended school at Thompson and later moved with her family to Grand Forks. Lila relocated to California where she met the love of her life, Joseph Loun. Lila and Joe were married on July 16, 1977 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They lived in California where she managed a café owned by Honeywell. Once they retired they moved to Kingston, Oklahoma and later to Fosston, Minnesota. Joe died November 29, 2004. Lila was a member of the Moose Lodge, the VFW Auxiliary, East Grand Forks, MN, and the Grand Forks Senior Citizens. She is survived by a sister, LaVerne Von Rueden, Grand Forks; brother-in-law, Robert Staveteig, Grand Forks; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Joe, sisters, Bernice Meyers, Mary Ann Staveteig, and Beverly Adams. Funeral Services will be 2:30 pm Tuesday, June 7, 2016 in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 S. 42nd St., Grand Forks. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will be in Memorial Park South Cemetery, Grand Forks. Memorials are preferred to the Grand Forks Senior Citizens Center, or the Circle of Friends Humane Society.
