Samantha Edwards

April 10, 1979 — June 14, 2016

Samantha Mary Edwards, 37, of Minneapolis Minnesota, died unexpectedly of natural causes June 14, 2016. Affectionately called Samie or Sam, she was born in Minot ND. She was the youngest daughter of Laurie (Kraft) and Freddy Edwards. Samie moved to Wright Patterson, Ohio in 1986 with her family and step father Larry Sayre. They lived there until 1990 when Larry was transferred to Grand Forks Air Force Base. Samie attended Hatton Public High School where she graduated in 1997. While in high school she played basketball, was a cheerleader for boys’ basketball, and participated in band.  Samie began with pageants at the age of 14. She modeled for numerous businesses and went on to win Miss North Dakota 2003. Sam studied at UND for a short time then attended the Aveda Institute in Minneapolis. She started working part time during school at the make-up counter at a local department store in Grand Forks. She then pursued this love of the cosmetic artistry for the past 14 years. Most recently Sam was a freelance makeup artist in the Minneapolis Area.  Samie was also instrumental in the startup of Aviv 613 covering the Minnesota and Wisconsin territory for a couple years. Sam’s love of life included her family, friends, cooking and artistry, along with the Sturgis Rally, motorcycles, tater tots and bacon. Sam has been known to cater a party and then become the entertainment. She brought life and laughter everywhere. Samie was the person who knew everyone; and if you didn’t know her you certainly wanted to. Samantha’s sister Gwen was her very best friend and confidante and Samie beamed with pride when she spoke of her brother Keith. Most important in Samantha’s life was her Mother, Laurie, whom she treasured greatly and her precious companion Peanut, her dachshund. Samantha had a love of life and experience and surrounding herself with friends and making them happy was of utmost importance to her. Samantha’s smile was infectious; her laughter contagious, and her quirky snort hilarious. She lit up a room with her eyes. To quote Winnie the Pooh, “How Lucky I am to have something that makes saying Goodbye So Hard.”  And in Sam’s words: I Love You More. Those of us Blessed to have had Samie in our lives include: Laurie Sayre, Freddy Edwards, Larry Sayre; her siblings Gwen Manzini and Keith Edwards; 1 nephew and 3 nieces, a large number of Aunts, Uncles, cousins and her amazing circle of friends in Minneapolis and across the country. Sam was preceded in death by her Grandmother Aemilia Kraft, her Uncle Martin Kraft and her Grandparents Harry and Virginia Edwards. It’s not Goodbye it’s until we meet again     #samazing   Hugz & Luvz     I am Sam, Sam I am.  Funeral Services will be 7:00 PM Friday, June 24, 2016 in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 S. 42nd St. in Grand Forks.
