Doris L Larson

   Doris L. Larson, 87, Grand Forks, ND died Saturday, June 25, 2016 in Valley Memorial Home Transitional Care.  Doris Lillian Mickelson was born December 26, 1928 in Mountview Township, North Dakota, the daughter of Richard and Sophie (Kemppainen) Mickelson.  She grew up in Rolla, ND and graduated from high school there. She attended nursing school in Bottneau, ND.  Doris married Glynn Larson on February 7, 1950. They lived and farmed near Bisbee, ND. Glynn passed away on July 23, 1979. Doris moved to Grand Forks in 1982 and became a house mother for Pi Beta Phi Sorority at UND. She was devoted to her family and her volunteer work with Altru Health System and ARC.   Survivors include her children, Bonnie (Fenn) Dickinson, St. Petersburg, FL, Janell (Neiland) Baerwald, West Fargo, ND, Brian (Cathy Henderson) Larson, Bisbee, ND, and Mark (Cheri) Larson, Bismarck, ND; eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren. Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Glynn; and by her brothers, Reynold, Ben, Rudolph, Roy and Carl.   Memorial Services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, June 30, 2016 in Amundson Funeral Home of Grand Forks, ND. Visitation will be the hour before the service in the funeral home. Interment will be at the Bisbee Lutheran Cemetery, Bisbee, ND. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
