Alice M. Nelson

Alice M. Nelson, 82, of Grand Forks, passed away Friday, July 29, 2016 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks. Alice was born January 20, 1934, in McVille, ND, the daughter of Louis & Freda (Hillebrand) Kiefat.  She grew up in Aneta, ND where she attended schools. She married Carl Nelson June 6, 1953.  Together they raised 4 children. Alice was a waitress at Dels Café for 37 years.  She greatly enjoyed her job, and her customers. She enjoyed dancing and gardening. Alice is survived by her children, Mike (Candy) Nelson, Dave (Connie) Nelson, Cathy Haller, Linda (Dean) Anderson; sister, Donna Hyland; brother, Harvey (Dorothy) Kiefat; 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl; siblings, Clara, Len and Ralph and special companion, Phil. FUNERAL SERVICE: 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 5 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Grand Forks. VISITATION: 5:00 – 7:00 on Thursday, August 4 at Amundson Funeral Home 2975 S. 42nd St. Grand Forks, ND.  Visitation will continue the hour prior to the service at the church.
