Marla Kay Jensen, 53, of Grand Forks, passed away Sunday, August 7, 2016 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks. Marla was born November 11, 1962, the daughter of Dwight “Mick” & Sonia (Stilwell) Diemert. She grew up in Walhalla and graduated from Devils Lake High School in 1981. She attended UND and a cosmetology hair school. Later in life Marla was adopted by Dale Holen. She lived in Florida briefly before returning to Grand Forks in 1987. She worked at the Ramada Inn for several years and most recently at Altru. Marla married Sean Jensen April 17, 1998, and they made their home in Grand Forks. She enjoyed reading, shopping and spending time with her family. She loved animals, especially her cat, Asa and dog, June. Marla is survived by her husband, Sean; sisters, Shannon (Don) Hansen of Grand Forks, Cathie (Gregg) Stein of Elk River, MN; brother, Jay (Julie) Diemert of Grand Forks; father, Dale (Dorothy) Holen of Grand Forks; mother-in-law, Angie Gammel; father-in-law, John Jensen; sisters-in-law, Kristine & Theresa Jensen, several nieces, nephews, great-nephews and special canine friend, June. She was preceded in death by her biological parents and niece, Lulu. Funeral Service:10:00 a.m. Friday, Aug. 12, 2016 at Amundson Funeral Home 2975 S. 42nd St. in Grand Forks, Visitation: 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. with a 7pm prayer service Thursday, Aug. 11.
