Beatrice Geir

Beatrice Ingebjorg Geir, 87, Grand Forks, died Thursday, August 18, 2016 in Valley Eldercare. Beatrice was born July 15, 1929 in Akra Township, Pembina County to George and Anna (Lindall) Stewart. She graduated from Milton High school. Beatrice married Clarence Geir on October 14, 1949 in Our Saviors Lutheran Church in East Grand Forks. They were lifelong members of Augustana Lutheran Church. She was very active in the cub scouts, senior companion and foster grandparent programs.  She worked at Hugo’s Bakery for a time. Beatrice loved sewing, gardening, crafting and making wine. She is survived by her children: Sheryl Otremba, Grand Forks, ND; Shirley (Marty) Kupper, Roseau, MN; Randy (Vicky) Geir, Grand Forks, ND; Ron (Christine) Geir, Spring Park, MN; Kelly (Kim) Geir, Mandan, ND; Kathy (Jim) Vilandre, Grand Forks, ND; Barb Geir, Grand Forks, ND; sisters: Kathryn Engle, Bemidji, MN; Ruth (Maurice) LaFontain, Bagley, MN; Patricia (Larry) Sandberg, Park Rapids, MN; brother, Bill Stewart, Staples, MN;  16 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Beatrice is proceded by her husband Clarence, parents George and Anna Stewart, daughter-in-law Linda Geir, son-in-laws Robert Barth and Allen Otremba. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Valley Eldercare, Tufte Manor, or Altru Hospice. Memorial service will be held Monday, August 22, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in Amundson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the start of the service. Burial will be in Memorial Park South Cemetery.
