Danielle Denney

 Danielle Aimée Denney, 29, Hastings, MN and formerly of Grand Forks, ND, died Monday, August 15, 2016 in her home. Danielle was born October 11, 1986 in Paradise, CA. She lived in Oroville, CA. until the age of 9 when she moved to Grand Forks. She graduated from Central High School in 2005, at which time she moved to Hastings, MN. Danielle spent many of her younger years as a swimmer for the Oroville Orca Swim Team, so it was not surprising that she loved working for the YMCA both as a lifeguard and a swim instructor. Danielle had a special love for the water, especially the ocean. Danielle was incredibly artistic and created beautiful paintings, drawings, and tattoos. She enjoyed designing and sewing her own clothes and had recently taken up crocheting.  Danielle also had a special bond with animals, especially horses and cats. She is survived by her mother, Kathryn “Katie” Rike, Grand Forks; siblings, Kassandra (Brad) Gorder, Williston, ND, Kaleb Rike, Grand Forks, Olivia “Maizey” Rike-Norman, Grand Forks and Hillary Denney, Oroville, CA; grandmothers, Else  “Besta” Rike, Grand Forks and LaVerne Denney, Oroville, CA; aunt, Renae (Jim) Rike-Fee, Williston, ND; nieces and nephews, Ivy, Jaxsyn and Nolan. She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Art Rike and Jack “Hoy” Denney. A Remembrance Service will be Friday, August 26, 2016 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a 7:00 PM Prayer Service in Amundson Funeral Home of Grand Forks. A Celebration of Danielle’s life will be Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Calvary Lutheran Church, Grand Forks. Visitation will continue for the hour before the service in the church.
