Nadine A. Pistner, 93, Grand Forks, ND, died Sunday, August 28, 2016 in Valley Memorial Home Eldercare, Grand Forks. Nadine Angeline Erickson was born January 22, 1923 in Grand Forks, the daughter of Alfred and Marie (Nelson) Erickson. She was raised on a farm near Mekinock, ND. She attended High School in Grand Forks and graduated from Central High School in 1941. Nadine loved antiques, collected and restored vintage dolls and enjoyed painting. She loved her VERY "hot" coffee and had fresh baked goodies as her door was always open to visitors. She was a people magnet and enjoyed her many friends. Nadine married Sidney “Sim” Pistner on December 21, 1941 in East Grand Forks, MN. They resided at 406 Reeves Dr. in Grand Forks until they bought their first house on Chestnut St. Nadine worked and modeled for Herberger’s department store for many years. They traveled to Arizona to reside during the winter months and spend time with family and friends. She was a loving, loyal and patient caregiver for her husband, nephew, and her parents at the end of their lives. Later, after Sidney’s passing, Nadine moved and spent a few years residing in Arizona and Palm Springs to be close to her brother, Floyd and family and her sister, Arlowyn. She is survived by several nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews and numerous friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Sidney Pistner, her parents Marie and Alfred Erickson, her sister Arlowyn, and her brothers, Charles, Floyd, and Elwood Erickson, nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Friday, September 2, 2016 in Amundson Funeral Home of Grand Forks. Visitation will be for the hour before the service in the funeral home. Burial will be in Memorial Park South Cemetery of Grand Forks.
