Jean Avelyn Jacobson

Jean A. (Ryan) Jacobson, 88, of East Grand Forks, MN, died Thursday, September 1, 2016 at Altru Rehab Center in Grand Forks. Jean Avelyn Ryan was born December 26, 1927, in Northwood, ND the daughter of Ivar & Andrine (Winden) Ryan.  She graduated from Northwood High School in 1945 and then worked at the Northwood State Bank for 20 years.   She married Elvin Jacobson on January 26, 1966.  They lived and farmed in Beaver Creek Township until 1980.  They retired to Grand Forks and East Grand Forks, MN.  Elvin died Aug. 18, 2012. Jean is survived by her daughter, Michelle Jacobson of East Grand Forks, MN; nieces, Becky (LaVerne) Rogalla of Oslo, MN, Judy (Dave) Engen of Northwood, ND, Patti (Kenny) Schmidt of Grand Forks, ND, Carol Wright of Vienna, VA, Laurie (Curt) Breimeier of Bismarck, ND. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elvin; siblings and spouses, Neilan (Bernice) Ryan, Martha (Anton) Ostmo and Ruth (Curt) Jensen and nephew, Richard Ryan. Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 9, 2016 at Amundson Funeral Home 2975 S. 42nd St. in Grand Forks, Visitation: One hour prior to the service.
