Carol Hanson

Carol M. Hanson, 81, Grand Forks, died Saturday, September 10, 2016 in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks. Carol Mae Soeby, the daughter of Carl and Martha (Metelmann) Soeby was born July 7, 1935 at Walhalla, North Dakota.  She attended school at Walhalla and later graduated from NDSU.  Carol Soeby and Floyd Hanson were united in marriage on  June 28, 1958 at Walhalla.  They lived at Osnabrock, North Dakota and later at Langdon, North Dakota before moving to Grand Forks in June, 2007.  Carol enjoyed weaving, cooking, traveling and doing volunteer work.    She is survived by her husband, Floyd, Grand Forks;  two sons, Jay Hanson, Copperas Cove, TX, and Steve Hanson, Loveland, CO;  several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Jack Soeby;  a sister,  Marcella MacLeod.   Memorial Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 17, 2016 in University Lutheran Church, 2122 University Ave., Grand Forks.  Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Prayer Service Friday, September 16, 2016 in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 S. 42nd St., Grand Forks.   Interment will be at a later in in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, North Dakota.  Memorials are preferred to University Lutheran Church, Grand Forks.
