Sidney A. Urness

Sidney A. Urness, 82, of Grand Forks, died at his home on September 12, 2016. Sidney was born November 11, 1933, in Leeds, ND, the son of Lawrence & Tilda (Strand) Urness.  He grew up and attended schools in Enderlin, Beulah and Grafton. He worked as a typist/clerk in the office for the Grafton Development Center and the Ramada Inn in Grand Forks.  He was the best “pots & pans” guy the Ramada had ever had. Sidney enjoyed bowling, spending time at the Senior Center and being with family and friends at his apartment building. He is survived by his brother, Lawrence (Christine) Urness of Eagle, ID; cousins, Reginald (Roselynn) Urness of Grand Forks, Clarence (Tiffany) Urness of Sacramento, CA and many other cousins, nieces & nephews. Sidney was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Betty Haws and special cousin, Ardell Olson. Memorial Service:  11:00 a.m. Friday, September 16, 2016 at Augustana Lutheran Church 520 University Ave. in Grand Forks. Visitation:  One hour prior to the service.
