Nathalie "Nat" Dickson

Nathalie “Nat” Dickson, 81, Grand Forks, ND and formerly of Gilby, ND, died Wednesday, September 28, 2016 in Valley Memorial Home Eldercare, Grand Forks. M. Nathalie Loveid was born November 26, 1934 in Warroad, MN the daughter of Ludvic and Axelina (Anderson) Loveid. She was raised and educated in Warroad and graduated from Warroad High School. After completing high school, she moved to Grand Forks and graduated from the Deaconess School of Nursing.   Nat married W. G. “Bert” Dickson on January 22, 1960 in Grand Forks. They lived briefly in Grand Forks and at the West family farm before making their permanent home in Gilby, ND in 1961.   Nat worked as a Registered Nurse at the Deaconess Hospital until her children were born. She stayed home to raise her five children and then returned to work as a nurse at the Grand Forks Senior Center – a job she held for more than 20 years.   Nat was the church organist at the Gilby Presbyterian Church for more than thirty years. She also played for various music groups including many high school musical groups. In addition, she was a member of the Thursday Music Club, the Eastern Star, Presbyterian Women and was an EMT for the Gilby Fire and Rescue. She enjoyed gardening, playing bridge and cooking.   Survivors include her husband, Bert Dickson, Grand Forks; children, Paul Dickson, Fargo, ND, Darla (Kevin) Schmidt, Severance, CO, Bill (JoLynn) Dickson, Gilby, ND Erik (Deb) Dickson, Chippewa Falls, WI, and Sara (Mike) Sobolik, Collinsville, OK; thirteen grandchildren; one great grandchild; sisters, Rita Temple, Tulsa, OK and Jean Sykes, Claremore, OK.   Nat was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Langie in 1957, parents Ludvic and Axelina Loveid, and by a brother, Karl Loveid.   Funeral Services will be Sunday, October 2, 2016 at 2 p.m. at the Gilby Presbyterian Church, Gilby, ND. Visitation will be Saturday, October 1, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service in Amundson Funeral Home of Grand Forks following the visitation. Visitation will continue for the hour before the service in the church. Burial will be in Prairie Home Cemetery of Gilby, ND.
