Sylvia M. Norlin, 84, Grand Forks, died Wednesday, October 12, 2016 in 4000 Valley Square- Woodside Village, Grand Forks. Sylvia Marie Schultz, the daughter of John William Schultz and Marie Beatrice (Lange) Schultz, was born February 29, 1932 at Ardoch, North Dakota. Her children were her pride and joy. Her love of music was very much a part of who she was. She enjoyed being a longtime member and director of the Silver Tones Vocal Group. Sylvia is survived by her beloved husband of 47 years, Kenneth Norlin; children, Victoria (Dean) Soltis, Christine (Bruce) Spicer, Suellyn Medley, David Zon, Daniel (Lila) Marquart, Douglas Zon, Donald Zon, Michael Norlin, Robert (Jennifer) Norlin; 23 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandson; silblings, Beverly Bjerke, Paul (Marion) Schultz, Patricia (Donald) Larson, Leonette Taussig. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Florian Zon, a brother, William, and nephew, Jeffrey. Mass of Christian Burial: will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 17, 2016 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 215 Belmont Rd., Grand Forks. Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Prayer Service Sunday, October 16, 2016 in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 S. 42nd ST., Grand Forks, and one hour prior to the service in church. Interment will be in Calvary North Cemetery, Grand Forks.
