Anna Marie Bradsteen

February 22, 1934 — October 15, 2016

Anna Marie (Eide) Bradsteen, 82, of Grand Forks, passed away Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Valley Eldercare Center in Grand Forks. Anna was born February 22, 1934, in Clifford, ND, the daughter of Elmer & Olga (Kville) Eide.  She grew up and attended schools in Mayville and Portland, ND. She married Richard Bradsteen Sr. on March 27, 1953 in Fargo, ND.  Her husband's 30 year military career offered her the opportunity to live and travel extensively in the United States and Europe. They have made their home in Grand Forks since 1978.   Anna was a homemaker while raising her children.  Her love of cooking led her to work as a cook in nursing homes and sororities in Grand Forks.  She especially cherished working for her girls in the sororities and they in turn loved all the great homemade food.   Anna enjoyed embroidery and sharing her handiwork with loved ones.  Gardening and canning with Richard was also something Anna loved to do. Anna and Richard enjoyed their summers at Devils Lake and winters in Apache Junction, AZ.  She was an active member and a past commander of the Grand Forks DAV Women’s Auxiliary Post #2. Anna is survived by her husband Richard; children, Dorothy Forbes of Anchorage, AK, Richard Bradsteen Jr. of Spokane, WA, Barbara (Michael) Deede of Plymouth, MN; sisters, Dagney (Eddie) Ponce, Gloria (Jim) Osland and Linda (Al Jordheim) Hart; grandchildren Kevin, Jessica, Laura, John and Sarah; great-grandchildren Myles and Callahan; and many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Alvon, George, Olaf, David, Ruth and Esther. FUNERAL SERVICE: 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 21 at Sharon Lutheran Church in Grand Forks. VISITATION: One hour prior to the service at the church. INTERMENT: Monday, October 24 at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN
