Marcus A. Schneider

  Marcus A. “Marc” Schneider, 92, Grand Forks, and formerly of Fargo and Bismarck, ND, died Friday, November 4, 2016 in Grand Forks. Marc was born January 16, 1924 in Bismarck, ND, the son of Sylvester and Eva (Schmidt) Schneider. He attended St. Mary’s School for 12 years, graduating from high school in 1942. He married Philomena Riehl in 1946. They had three children, Claudia, Reesie and Craig. Marc was employed by Dakota Electric Supply Co, Sweetheart Bakery, and from 1956 through 1986 with Northern Improvement Co., all of Bismarck. Marc played with a dance band for many years. His hobbies included bowling, horseshoe pitching, hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, The Catholic order of Foresters, the Bismarck Eagles and Bismarck Elks. Marc was inducted into the North Dakota Horseshoe Pitcher’s Hall of Fame and the Bismarck-Mandan Bowling Association Hall of Fame. Marc is survived by his daughters, Claudia Pramhus, Surprise, AZ, and Reesie (Jim) Fasbender, Grand Forks, ND; grandchildren, Andrea, Karmel, Alec, Jamie and Michael; seven great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Philomena in 2011; son, Craig in 1964; by a son-in-law, Gary Pramhus in 2015; by brothers, Joe and Jim; and sisters, Helen, Cecelia and Dolly. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Thursday, November 10, 2016 in St. Michael’s Catholic Church of Grand Forks, ND. Visitation will be for the hour before Mass in the church. Burial will be 12:30 PM on Friday, November 11, 2016 in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery of Bismarck, ND. In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations can be sent to the University of Mary Scholarship Fund in Bismarck, or to St. Michael’s Catholic Church of Grand Forks.
